Hello and Welcome!

To the 165 men with whom I spoke between May, 2007 and November, 2008, "welcome back." This will be your second visit to a site originally created to provide preliminary information about the study.  This repurposed site has been created to make good on my promise to share the data with you, but also to thank you for your participation.

The experience of speaking with all of you was one of the richest of my professional life.

The experience of speaking with all of you was one of the richest of my professional life.  I am deeply grateful for the excitement that so many of you brought to the project, which generated responses from individuals living in 19 states.

I also am grateful for the candor, humor and sheer perseverance that you demonstrated in talking to me and making your way through the long online questionnaire.  Your interest supported and inspired me at times when the work of running this one-man research project became overwhelming.  I see your participation in this study as a celebration of coupled experiences that are long-lasting and enriching, and also a political statement:  Indeed, gay coupled relationships are important, powerful and can provide worthwhile relationship models for others.

You will notice in the navigation to the left that there is a Discussion link. I invite you to share your thoughts, feelings and questions about the findings.  I will gather your posts by groupings and respond.  I also see the Discussion/Blog as an opportunity for all of us involved in coupled gay male relationships to share our experiences as couples and to comment on developments in the world as they relate to us.

To those of you who are new to this research project and its findings as well as this community of coupled gay men and their supporters, I send the heartiest of welcome.

Warmest regards,
Boris
